Parking City of Tampa POE Garage Description The American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC Florida) have significant concerns about the potential impact of the constitutional amendment, Save Our Homes from Excessive Property Taxes, on the ability of local government to make needed investments in public infrastructure. Florida’s public health, economy and quality of life depend on a sufficient, strategic and sustained investment in critical infrastructure, including roads, public transit, drinking water, wastewater treatment, flood control, waste management, environmental restoration, parks and playgrounds. Greater investment in public infrastructure is needed to support the rapidly growing population, strengthen engagement in global commerce, protect sensitive ecosystems and coastal estuaries, and provide the community amenities that make the Sunshine State a great place to live, work and raise a family. Florida communities are already weighing cuts to infrastructure projects and drastic loss of revenue could jeopardize municipalities’ ability to repay bonds already issued for infrastructure.
